Eden Rising : Supremacy

Eden Rising : Supremacy is a coop action tower defense for PC. A tribe of warriors discovers a new dangerous world and fends of waves of monsters in tower defense challenges.
The project was realized in collaboration with the Canadian Media Fund and was rebooted in 2017 right before I joined the team as senior producer.
The coop gameplay pillars of Eden Rising were based on the existing client-server architecture implemented during pre-production. The main goals were to allow the players to grow their characters at their own pace and avoid multiplayer toxicity, by focusing on “tribe” mechanics that encourage synergy across a server.
On art side, the major focus was to avoid classic science-fiction tropes and define a strong identity for the game, where a screenshot alone would allow anyone to identify the player. By coordinating the art & design team we were able to consolidate this vision around a science-fantasy concept, taking inspiration from marine environment and rare materials from our world.
After an original scope estimate, the early project was organized around “gates” milestones, where the team would test the game together, bring up issues during a review meeting, then self-assign these topics for a week of quality improvement across the board.
We also organized multiple playtests with colleagues, friends and family to rationalize the game reception and survey in detail the players’ approach of the game. This allowed the team to isolate key issues that became our main focus as we drew near to the early access.
The game entered Early Access in May 2018, and my last mission was to help defining the approach for the game definitive release plan, in coordination with our project manager, creative director and external consulting support.
